Manifesting Tips: Ignoring 3D Reality

In this article, I’m going to discuss one of the biggest challenges when it comes to manifesting (in my opinion), which is ‘ignoring’ 3D reality, and suggestions on how to overcome these challenges to hopefully make it easier.

3D reality refers to our external environment; everything we are experiencing in our reality externally with our five senses. When it comes to manifesting, it’s important to understand that we broadcast the contents of our energy field (which includes the subconscious mind) out into the quantum field, and we experience a 3D reality that matches this. We are always manifesting at every moment, whether consciously or subconsciously.

One of the key components of the law of assumption (popularized by the New Thought author Neville Goddard) is that we must turn our back on 3D reality and return our attention to the state of the wish fulfilled.

There have been a lot of different interpretations around what this means, and I think it has led many people to believe that ignoring 3D reality means pretending something is happening when it isn’t (or voice versa) and stuffing your feelings. When we pretend that something is happening and it really isn’t, this can create a lot of internal resistance, because your senses are going to pick up on this and clearly see what is really happening, regardless of what you tell yourself mentally. Additionally, the word pretending implies that we do not yet have what it is we are manifesting, and with manifesting, the goal is for the change to occur within first, because what you experience within is ultimately what will out picture into your 3D reality.

So what have I learned about ignoring 3D reality (after a fair amount of trial and error with this)? I have learned it is absolutely okay to acknowledge what is currently happening in your reality at this moment, even if you do not like it. It’s okay to acknowledge that the opposite is happening or that things are not yet going your way. While the goal is to avoid having strong emotional reactions to the 3D (we do this by remembering that what we are seeing externally is an old manifestation), sometimes this is really challenging, especially when something unwanted happens. If you are having a strong emotional reaction to your current circumstances, it’s okay to let yourself react and feel your feelings. You can always use revision to revise the situation to how you would have wanted it to go when you are feeling better.

I have come to learn that ignoring the 3D means not accepting what is currently happening as final, if it is not yet your desired outcome. It means understanding that what you are currently seeing out pictured is an old manifestation, and it doesn’t mean that what you are currently doing isn’t working. It means accepting things as they are in the present moment, AND committing to returning to the state of your wish fulfilled. In another article, I wrote about states of consciousness. States of consciousness are eternal and they are all happening all at once, which means your desired outcome already exists in this moment, now. What helps me when something less than desirable is happening in the 3D is acknowledging it (i.e. “I see this. Yes it sucks. However, this is the state I choose” and returning to the state of the wish fulfilled. It can take time to get into the habit of remembering that what we are seeing out pictured is merely an old manifestation that was impressed a few days, weeks, or even a few months ago, but the more you approach ignoring the 3D with this mindset, the easier it gets.

It’s also helpful to remember that once you set an intention, a bridge of incidents will unfold that will get you from your current state to your desired state. We won’t consciously know we are on the bridge of incidents while we are on it, and sometimes the bridge of incidents can be rockier. I’ll give a personal example. When I set the intention to manifest my soulmate, things around me started changing very fast, and not in a very pleasant way. I had been in a very tumultuous “situationship” for about two years at that point, and this situation imploded. It was extremely difficult, but it had to happen in order for me to get what I was manifesting. About 9 months later, I started dating the man who I do believe is my soulmate and we ended up getting married. The 9 months leading up to that point were very challenging, but the work I did on myself during that time ultimately led me to the situation I wanted to be in. During this time, my entire self-concept changed. So, remember, if you are experiencing something unpleasant, it might be necessary in order to get you where you want to be.
